Transcripción de la presentación:

¡Estamos viajando a Argentina! Mi esposo y yo planeamos viajar a Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Mi esposo y yo gusta tomar vino y planeamos hacer mucho!

Mate is a drink made from herbs steeped in water and it has its own etiquette and tradition around how it is prepared and served.

Argentina is famous for steak, leather, wine, Iguazú falls, Tierra del Fuego, the tango and fugitive war criminals. Although the official national sport of Argentina is Pato (which is a combination of polo and basketball), fútbol is the most popular sport. The Iguazú Falls of Argentina are higher than the Niagara Falls.

Argentina is one of the world’s largest producers of wine, and has been since the 16th century. The oldest known dinosaur species have been traced back to Argentina and are exhibited at the Argentine National Historical Museum.

Argentina boasts the highest number of psychiatrists per capita than anywhere else on earth (145 per 100,000 residents)! Argentina was the first place to use fingerprinting in forensic investigation.

Argentina means "land of silver" is known as the "golden time", when Argentina emerged as one of the 10 richest cities in the world. In the 70’s the military took over the government and the “dirty wars” started, and thousands of young people ‘disappeared’. The mothers of the disappeared still protest in the Capital every week.

Argentine women undergo the highest number of plastic surgeries in the world, per capita. The typical local food is STEAK, STEAK, STEAK! Argentinians are proud of their beef and they have some of the best in the world. Parrillas, asada, anything you can dream up. And it is delicious.

The Spanish of Buenos Aires is a little different, owing to the many Italians that immigrated to Argentina long ago. They have their own city slang, called "Lunfardo", where often the words are pronounced backward (by switching the order of the syllables). Some examples: feca= café, jermu= mujer, rioba= barrio, lleca= calle. ¡Qué estraño! Also, the pronunciation of the "ll" in Argentina is not like a Spanish "y", but rather it makes a "shh" sound. So "millón" would sound like "mishon", "llueve" like "shueve", etc.
