The imperfect tense is used with habitual (repeated) actions, weather, time, age, physical characteristics, emotions, actions with no clear ending, and to set the scene of a past event. Many times the imperfect tense translates to “used to” in English. We will be going into MUCH more detail about these two tenses, so for now, let’s just focus on getting the imperfect endings down. 
