2 The Preterite Actions that: were repeated a specific number of times occurred during a specific period of time. were part of a chain of events. can be viewed as single/one time events. state the beginning or the end of an action. 2 is used for past actions that are seen as “completed” Preterite “signal words” : Un día (one day) Ayer (yersterday) Una vez (one time) El verano pasado (last summer) etc…..
