Estos (these) pantalones son más grandes que esos (those) pantalones. These pants are bigger than those pants. Ana es más baja que Lana. Ana is shorter than Lana. Pedro es más alto que Juan. Pedro is taller than Juan. Juan es alto, pero es menos alto que Pedro. Juan is tall but less taller than Pedro. La bolsa es tan cara como el abrigo. The purse is as expense as the coat.

If someone does something more than, less than, as much as …. Use más que, menos que or tanto como Here we are using the verb “cuestan” to say The boots cost more than the shoes. In the previous structure we used adjectives to compare things. (Las botas son más bonitas que los zapatos.) Juan escribe más que Liliana. Efraín lee menos que Ana. Efraín reads less than Ana. Las botas cuestan más que los zapatos. Margarita compra más que Julia.

Ir de compras Te quedan bien. They fit you well Me quedan bien. They fit me well. ¿Qué le parece esta blusa? What do you think of this blouse. (formal you) Me parece bonita. It’s pretty. ¿Cómo me quedan los zapatos? How do the shoes look on me? Te parecen fenomenales. They look great on you.
