Informal Commands “Tú commands”
The Imperative Tense: Use informal commands when you want to tell a friend what to do. This works for both negative and positive commands. Do this! or Don’t do this! ¡Deja de fumar!
Positive Commands: Create the tú form of the verb and just drop the “s” This is actually just the usted form. For example: –Camina. –Trabaja. –Salta a la cuerda. –Come verduras.
Negative Commands: Create the tú form of the verb and add the opposite ending: –Ar verbs will have –es as an ending –Er/ir verbs will have – as as an ending Example: tú caminas = No camines Example: tú corres = No corras
