Indirect Object Pronouns

Indirect object pronouns are simply words that replace an indirect object. Look at these examples – the indirect object pronouns are underlined: I gave the book to him. Le di el libro. I bought her the shirt. Le compré la camisa. She gave the book to you. Te dio el libro. Juan gave the books to them. Juan les dio los libros.

The indirect object is the person or thing to whom something is given or for whom something is done. Note that like with the direct object pronouns, the indirect object pronouns also go in front of the verb. I gave the book to him. Le di el libro. I bought her the shirt. Le compré la camisa. She gave the book to you. Te dio el libro. Juan gave the books to them. Juan les dio los libros.
