Vision  Every child will thrive in academics  Every child will be bilingual and bi-literate  Every child will be engaged and challenged everyday …because these are the skills our students need to be successful in life and in college.

Visión  Cada niño va a prosperar en el mundo académico  Todo niño será bilingüe y sabra leer/escribir en las 2  Cada niño será involucrado y desafiado todos los días... porque estas son las habilidades que nuestros estudiantes necesitan para tener éxito en la vida y en la universidad.

Academics  Focused on thinking and conceptual understanding across content in all grade levels  Support for all students  Individual  Small groups in and out of the classroom  We know every child well

Current Highlights  Great Teachers!  All but one classroom teacher returning next year (she is starting a family)  Strong community building year with family liaison  Building renovation is on track and on target  Large wait list and majority of families returning  Focused on growing SPF  Great work on new standards/ new test  Great work on academic equity

Common Core State Standards  Challenged us to better challenge students  Holds us accountable to make sure we are teaching critical thinking skills  Testing has changed (see next slide)
