Facts about Direct Objects: 1. Receive the action of the verb 2. Answer Who? Or What? About the verb 3. Can be a Noun or Pronoun Ejemplos: Noun: Quiero la camisa azul. [I want the blue shirt.] Pronoun: La quiero. [I want it. PRONOUN] *What is wanted? DO = the shirt

Placement of a direct object pronoun Rule #1: Before the verb in a form (changed) Quiero comprar zapatos negros. Los quiero comprar hoy. Rule #2: Attached to end of an infinitive [ar/er/ir] Quiero comprar zapatos negros. Quiero comprarlos hoy.

2 verb rule: If you have 2 verbs next to each other in a sentence, Verb 1 changes, Verb 2 stays in the infinitive [ar, er, ir ending]. Quiero comprar los zapatos. Quiero comprar los zapatos. Verb 1 = Quiero (changed for YO) Verb 2 = comprar (stays an infinitive) Preferimos comer la pizza. Necesitas leer el libro.

Ejemplos: Find the direct objects. Ask the questions…who/what receives the action of the verb. 1. Tengo mucha tarea. what do I have? 2. No quieres comprar el vestido. what dont you want to buy? 3.
