El Imperfecto 1) En Progreso –Ella cantaba mientras trabajaba. –She was singing while she was working. –If the action was in progress of occurring when you tell the story, it fits in this category –Key word: mientras (while)

El Imperfecto 2) Habitual, Repetida –Ellos siempre caminaban a la escuela. –They always used to walk to school. –They used to walk to school. –If an action occurred more than once, it fits in this category.

Key Words for #2 The following all imply that the action happened multiple times: –Siempre –Todos los días –Cada –A veces –De vez en cuando –Con frecuencia –A menudo = often If you see one of these, you will probably use the imperfect
