En resumen, no pueden ustedes servir a Dios y al dinero. 25 Por eso les digo que no se preocupen por su vida, pensando qué comerán o con qué se vestirán. ¿Acaso no vale más la vida que el alimento, y el cuerpo más que el vestido?

26 Miren las aves del cielo, que ni siembran, ni cosechan, ni guardan en graneros y, sin embargo el Padre celestial las alimenta. ¿Acaso no valen ustedes más que ellas? 27 ¿Quién de ustedes, a fuerza de preocuparse, puede prolongar su vida siquiera un momento? 28 ¿ Y por qué se preocupan del vestido? Miren cómo crecen los lirios del campo, que no trabajan ni hilan.

29 Pues bien, yo les aseguro que ni Salomón, en el esplendor de su gloria, se vestía como uno de ellos. 30 Y si Dios viste así a la hierba del campo, que hoy florece y mañana es echada al horno, ¿no hará mucho más por ustedes, hombres de poca fe? 31 No se inquieten, pues, pensando: ¿Qué comeremos o qué beberemos o con qué nos vestiremos?

32 Los que no conocen a Dios se desviven por todas estas cosas; pero el Padre celestial ya sabe que ustedes tienen necesidad de ellas. 33 Por consiguiente, busquen primero el Reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas estas cosas se les darán por añadidura. 34 No se preocupen por el día de mañana, porque el día de mañana traerá ya sus propias preocupaciones. A cada día le bastan sus propios problemas”.

You cannot serve God and money. 25 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

26 Look at the birds in the sky; they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are not you more important than they? 27 Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span? 28 Why are you anxious about clothes? Learn from the way the wild flowers grow. They do not work or spin. 29 But I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was clothed like one of them.

30 If God so clothes the grass of the field, which grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith? 31 So do not worry and say, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear?’ 32 All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.

33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. 34 Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil.” Gospel of the Lord

In a world that suffers from anxiety and worry, Jesus comes and tells us not to worry. It is all a matter of trust. The Lord always encourages us to have faith in him. When the Apostles were fearful, Jesus would say: “O ye of little faith, why do you doubt?” (Matthew 14:31). Let us examine the many passages in the scriptures that speak about this subject.

En un mundo que sufre de ansiedad y se preocupa de muchas cosas, Jesús viene y nos dice que no hay que preocuparnos. Todo se trata de tener confianza. El Señor siempre nos anima a tener fe en Él. Cuando los Apóstoles tuvieron miedo, Jesús les dijo: “Hombres de poca fe, ¿porque dudan?” (Mateo 14:31). Vamos a examinar algunos pasajes de la escritura que nos hablan de esto.

Many saints speak about this Many saints speak about this. Father Pio, the stigmatic, says that, even when we suffer, we should not be afraid, because God is still with us. When we do suffer, we should convince ourselves that Jesus suffers with us and for us. Work on awareness of this beautiful truth. He does not leave us alone, to suffer all by ourselves, while He is in heaven.

El Padre Pío, estigmita, nos dice, que hasta en el sufrir, no debemos de tener miedo, porque Dios siempre esta con nosotros. Y cuando sufrimos, hay que convencernos que Jesús sufre con nosotros y por nosotros. Trata de aumentar tu conocimiento de esta bellísima verdad. Dios no nos deja solos, a sufrir a solas, mientras que Él esta en cielo.

He is Emmanuel, God with us. That is his name He is Emmanuel, God with us. That is his name. He stays with us all the time. “In Him we move, and live, and have our being” (Acts 17:28). He does not change his mind when difficulties present themselves. He stays with us through thick and thin. Like the saying says: “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” Jesus stays with us, even when all abandon him.

Él es Emmanuel, Dios con nosotros. Ese es su Nombre Él es Emmanuel, Dios con nosotros. Ese es su Nombre. Recuerda el acontecimiento en el Evangelio de Juan 6:66-69: “Muchos de sus discípulos volvieron atrás, y ya no andaban con Él. Dijo entonces Jesús a los doce: ¿Queréis acaso iros también vosotros? Le respondió Simón Pedro: Señor; ¿a quien iremos? Tu tienes palabras de vida eterna. Y nosotros hemos creído y conocemos que tú eres el Cristo, el Hijo del Dios viviente.” ¿Qué aprendemos de esto? ¡Quédate con el Señor, pase lo que pase!

En la luz de estas lecturas, las palabras de Jesús nos conceden una paz profunda. “Hombres de poca fe, no anden preocupados. Su Padre celestial sabe lo que necesitan. Buscad primeramente el Reino de Dios y su justicia, y todo se les concederá por añadidura” (Mateo 6:30-33).

In John 14:1-3 Jesus says: “Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house, there are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will take you to myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”

In sum: “Commit your way to the Lord In sum: “Commit your way to the Lord. If you trust in the Lord, he will act in due time” (Psalm 37:5). En fin, “Entrégate al Señor. Si confías en el Señor, él actuara a su debido tiempo” (Salmo 37:5).
