What is the present tense? This folder contains the endings for all tenses. This document is for really experienced Spanish linguists. As you know, just by swapping endings, you can change the tense and the person all together. Let’s revise them.
The Present Indicative People AR ER IR yo -o tú -as -es él/ella/usted -a -e nosotros -amos -emos -imos vosotros -áis -éis -ís ellos/ellas/ ustedes -an -en
The Past Imperfect People AR ER IR yo -aba -ía tú -abas -ías él/ella/usted nosotros -ábamos -íamos vosotros -abais -íais ellos/ellas/ ustedes -aban -ían
The Future Indicative People AR ER IR yo -é tú -ás él/ella/usted -á The following endings are added to the end of the infinitive. People AR ER IR yo -é tú -ás él/ella/usted -á nosotros -emos vosotros -éis ellos/ellas/ ustedes -án
The Conditional Indicative The following endings are added to the end of the infinitive. People AR ER IR yo -ía tú -ías él/ella/usted nosotros -íamos vosotros -íais ellos/ellas/ ustedes -ían
The Present Subjunctive Use the Present Indicative tense. Select the first person (yo) Eliminate the ‘-o’ Add the following endings. People AR ER IR yo -e -a tú -es -as él/ella/usted nosotros -emos -amos vosotros -éis -áis áis ellos/ellas/ ustedes -en -an
Just a note on the Subjunctive. Please don’t worry yourself with the subjunctive. It is for people towards the end of the A2 course. It’s difficult in English, let alone Spanish. I do not expect anybody, even the Spanish, to know the subjunctive and for this reason, I have left the Imperfect Subjunctive out.
