The imperfect progressive is used to describe an action as it was taking place. Ex I was taking a test.

This is a compound conjugation. It has two verb forms It is formed by using the: imperfect tense of estar + present participle = Imperfecto progresivo

Adjetivos y pronombres demostrativos Pointing out people or things

You use the demonstrative adjectives like this, that, these, and those to point out people or things. In Spanish, the demonstrative adjectives agrees with the noun it modifies.

All forms of este indicate someone or something CLOSE to the speaker. They mean this or these in English Por ejemplo: Este boleto que tengo aquí es para el metro. This ticket that I have here is for the metro

All forms of ese indicate someone or something CLOSE to the listener. They mean that or those in English Por ejemplo: Ese boleto que tú tienes allí es para el bus. That ticket that you have there is for the bus.

All forms of aquel indicate someone or something away from both the speaker and the listener. They mean that and those in English as well. Por ejemplo: Aquellos boletos en aquella mesa allá no son usados. Those tickets on that table over there are not used.

Note that the adverbs aquí, allí, and allá indicate relative position; here, there, over there. Use these adverbs as clues, as to where the thing or person that is being talked about is located.

Aquí means here. The person speaking is close to it. Allí means there. The listener is close to it. Allá means over there. The thing being spoken about is away from both the speaker and the listener.
