3 Comparison of Inequality To make a comparison of inequality when talking about actions, use más+(adverb)+que or menos+(adverb)+que. Ana les habla a los clinetes más frecuentemente que Dora. Gasto menos que mis hermanas en ropa.

4 Comparison of Equality To make a comparison of equality when talking about actions, use tan+(adverb)+como. Carolina sabe diseñar tan bien como Martín.

5 Superlative To talk about something or someone having the most or the least of a characteristic or quality (the superlatives), use the following formulas. ¿Vas a comprar el CD más reciente o el CD más caro? Most or Least Formula el +noun+ más +adjective la los menos las

6 Superlative To talk about someone or something being the best, the worst, the oldest, or the youngest, use the following formula. Notice that de names the group from which the things are being compared. Esta zapatería tiene los mejores precios de la ciudad. Best, Worst, Oldest, Youngest Formula el + mejor(es) noun+de lapeor(es) losmayor(es) las menor(es)

7 Extremely Good, Bad, or Interesting A way to say that something is extremely good, bad, or interesting is to add the ending -ísimo/a/os/as to the adjective. Ese vestido es lindísimo. Las blusas son feísimas.

10 Demonstrative Adjectives Demonstrative adjectives point out things. Use forms of este for things close to you. Use forms of ese for things farther away. Use forms of aquel for things that are farther away from the speaker. 11 Demonstrative Adjectives ¿Te gusta este vestido? Me gusta más esa falda. ¿Viste las cadenas de oro? ¿Esas cadenas del puesto enfrente de nosotros? No, las cadenas de aquella tienda.

12 En aquel entonces Aquel can also be used to refer to the distant past, as in in those days. En aquel entonces (aquellos años/días), había menos tiendas en el centro.

13 Aquí/Acá y Allí/Allá The adverbs aquí/acá (here) and allí/allá (there) are also used to point out where someone or something is. Use aquí and allí to point out a precise place. Come (right) here!Come over here! ¡Ven aquí!¡Ven acá!

16 Comparing how often You can compare how often things happen or how often people do things with más que, menos que, and tanto como. En el invierno nieva más que en el otoño. En el desierto llueve menos que en la costa. No viajo tanto como mis hermanos.

17 Comparing Quantities Use the expressions más…que, menos…que, and tanto(a/os/as)…como with nouns to compare quantities. Hay más huracanes en el verano que en el invierno. En general, vas a ver menos águiles que buitres. Vinieron tantos turistas a la playa este año como el año pasado.

18 Adjectives as nouns To avoid repetition, leave out the nouns and use más, menos, tanto, tantos, tanta, and tantas. No veo serpientes en el jardín. Aquí no hay tantas como en el campo. Tantas refers to serpientes.
