Possession There are 3 ways to express possession in Spanish. Use SER + de La chaqueta es de Elena. The jacket is Elena’s. Use TENER Tengo dos libros. I have two books.

Possessive adjectives The 3rd way to express possession is to use possessive adjectives and possessive pronouns. Possessive adjectives are placed in front of the noun they modify. Possessive pronouns take the place of the noun they modify. Possessive adjectives and pronoun agree in gender and number with the nouns they modify.

Possessive Adjectives Mi /mis = my Nuestro / nuestra/ nuestros / nuestras = Our Tu / tus = your (inf.) Vuestro / vuestra/ vuestros / vuestras = Your (inf.) Su / sus = his, her, your (for.) Su / sus = their (m.), their (f.), your (pl. for.)
