Pronombres Posesivos Capítulo1-Lección 3

Pronombres posesivos Let´s look at the possessive adjectives first. There are two sets. The first set goes before the noun.

Adjetivos posesivos (before the noun) mi / mis my tu / tus your su / sus his, her, your nuestro, -a our nuestros, -as vuestro, -a your vuestros, -as su / sus their your

Adjetivos posesivos The possessive adjective must be singular if the noun is singular and plural if the noun is plural.                                                                                            While possessive adjectives refer to the owner, their form agrees in gender and number with the noun that comes after them.

Example

Pronombres posesivos To form the possessive pronouns, use the long form of possessive adjectives preceded by the definite article (el/los, la/las). Both the article and the possessive must agree in number and gender with the noun they replace.

Pronombres posesivos Mi suéter (my sweater – adjetivo posesivo) El mío (mine – pronombre posesivo) Nuestra sudadera (our sweatshirt- adjetivo posesivo) La nuestra (ours – pronombre posesivo) Su libro (his book – adjetivo posesivo) El suyo (his – pronombre posesivo)

Pronombres posesivos Mis padres son muy serios. ¿Y los tuyos? Los míos son bastante divertidos. Tu familia es muy pequeña. La mía es bastante grande.

Pronombres posesivos We often omit the article between the verb SER and the possessive pronoun. Esas maletas son (las) nuestras. Mi hermano siempre dice que toda la culpa es (la) mía.
