GUIDELINES FINAL EXAM

GUIDELINES On week 14 you will have your final exam during class hours. The exam will be a Persuasive Speech following “Monroe’s Motivated Sequence”. You will have to hand in the outline of your exam (developed in class) the first day of week 13. for revision following the guidelines uploaded on the virtual campus. Go over the assessment criteria before preparing your outline/speech to ensure you are considering all the requested information.

Rehearse your speech to prevent reading. Make sure you do not exceed the time allotted. Prepare a PPT presentation considering only key words/phrases and/or pictures. Do not include sentences. You must upload your PPT to the virtual campus. Your speech should last from 6 to 8 minutes. Be ready to answer questions. You must wear a formal attire for your final exam. GUIDELINES

CHOOSE FROM THE FOLLOWING TOPICS 1.There should be special privileges for working Women. 2.The Government should approve the three- day weekend. 3.There should be stronger limits on Immigration. 4.Juvenile criminals should be prosecuted as adults. 5.Recycling should be mandatory. 6.Exams give no real indication of ability. 7.The mínimum wage should be increased. 8.Wild animals should stay wild. 9.Humans have become too dependent on technology. 10.Do not tolerate abuse, speak out. 11.Most illnesses are avoidable. 12. Reality shows are exploiting people.

PLANNING AHEAD WEEK 12 session 1: Choose a topic. Research. Gather supporting material. Go over the assessment criteria. WEEK 13 Session 1: In-class outlining for Final Speech. WEEK 14 Sessions 1 and 2: Final Speech Delivery. Remember your speech should follow the Monroe’s Motivated Sequence Pattern.
