MASA VALVERDE AMT SURVEY GEOGNOSIA S.L.L. GEOGNOSIA has run an AMT (Audio Mageneto-Telluric) survey over a well-known massive sulphide deposit to test how the AMT method works in this kind of envioroments. The MasaValverde deposit was discovered in July 1986. It was discovered by the consortium Peñarroya-ADARO, after drilling a gravity anomaly. A total of 19 drillholes were completed between 1986 and 1993 over de anomaly. 13 of the 19 holes intersected massive sulphide and well developed semi-massive/stockwork mineralization. 6 drill-holes more were done to test smaller gravity anomalies around. The average thickness of the massive sulphide intersections is about 70m and the average for stockwork mineralization is 90m. A lot of geophysical surveys has been done over this target, but not all of them has worked sucessfully.
