Se ha recibido capacitación (apoyo de Fundación Defensores de la Naturaleza) y hemos impartido enseñanza en algunas aldeas de Cabañas, a cerca del adecuado manejo del recurso natural. Las y los aldeanos nos aceptan y desean que volvamos. Nuestro Coordinador de la Comisión del Medio Ambiente, Agrónomo Guillermo Archila y su asistente, estudiante en Ingeniería Ambiental Yénifer Hernández, prepararán más actividades para continuar We have learned it is important to work for our environment! Our Team has recieved training ( from Fundación Defensores de la Naturaleza) and we have taught in four of Cabañas´s villages the adecuate manegement of our natural resources. Villagers have accepted us and wish us back. Our Environment Coordinator, Agronomist Guillermo Archila and his assitant Environmental Engineer student, Yénifer Hernández will prepare more activities to continue our work. Centro de Acopio de Reciclados Cabañas – Recycle Gathering Center Se ha trabajado el diseño del proyecto de nuestra asociada Master Mirna Carranza y se pretende iniciar labores a finales de este año. Pronto habrá en Cabañas un lugar donde se reuna material de desecho para reciclar. Así mismo se concienciará a la población sobre la necesidad urgente de dar a los recursos un mejor manejo. We have been working on the project desing of our associate Education Master Mirna Carranza and the Center will open December this year. Soon there will be a place in town where to bring waste material to recycle. Also there will be awareness teaching about the urgent need to use resources more wisely. ASIVESCA forma parte de La Alanza para el Desarrollo Sostenible del Valle del Motagua- Desde el mes de mayo 2009 ASIVESCA ha asistido a reuniones para la conformación legal de esta alianza. De esta manera se estará defendiendo la conservación y desarrollo del Monte Seco y Bosque Espinoso de Guatemala.

Comisión de Educación- Education Biblioteca ASIVESCA-ONG- Library Nuestra amiga Meg Kalacznik viajó a Cabañas en el mes de febrero. Apoyó el Proyecto Biblioteca impartiendo cursos de Inglés, hora de Cuenta Cuentos y Tricot. Our friend Meg Kalacznik traveled to Cabañas in February. She supported the Library Project teaching English, Story Time and Knitting. Becas Scholarships En el segundo año de trabajar becas tenemos tres estudiantes En se observa como el desarrollo avanza. estudiantes son personas brillantes que inteligentemente aprovechan el apoyo integrándose a actividades de la comunidad de una mejor manera. In the second year of working scholarships we have three students involved. In them you can tell development advances. They are brilliant people that take advantage of the support going into community activities in a better way. Proyecto Colegio Ambiental Environmental School Project 2011 Se prepara el Proyecto para un Colegio Ambiental para laborar en el Inicialmente se recibirán estudiante de primaria. The Education Commission is preparing an Environmental School Project to start in In the beginning it will be recieving 1st through 6th grade students.
