Affirmative words are used to say that something does exist, or that it does happen. Affirmative statement: The students dance on their desks. Affirmative statement: There are 12 monsters in the closet. Negative words are used to say that something doesn’t exist, or that it doesn’t happen. Negative statement: The students do not dance on their desks. Negative statement: There are no monsters in the closet.
To make a sentence negative, you usually put no in front of the verb. Ejemplo: Los estudiantes no bailan encima de los pupitres. Ejemplo: No sacamos buenas notas en la clase de arte. Sometimes you can also use a negative word after the verb. Ejemplo: No estudiamos nunca el lunes por la noche.

Alguien and nadie can be used before or after the verb. Alguien Alguien tiene el proyecto. Nadie Nadie tiene el proyecto. or No tiene nadie el proyecto. If nadie comes before the verb, you do not need to use a double negative (no before the verb).
Alguno, alguna, algunos, algunas, and ninguno, ninguna match the number (singular or plural) and gender (masculine or feminine) of the noun to which they refer. —¿Uds. van al laboratorio de computadoras en algunas clases? —No, no vamos al laboratorio en ninguna clase.
You can’t have multiple nothings. The only time you can use ningunas and ningunos is if the noun is always plural. Example: No tengo ningunas tijeras. scissors is always plural in Spanish.
When alguno and ninguno come before a masculine singular noun, they change to algún and ningún. Check out the following conversation: Pablo: ¿Vas a dar algún discurso en la clase de inglés? Margarita: No, no voy a dar ningún discurso. Margarita could have also said: No, no voy a dar ninguno.
