Direct Object Pronouns: Me, Te, Nos P. 166 Realidades 2

DOP: Me, Te, Nos You know that direct object pronouns replace direct object nouns. The Direct object pronouns lo, la, los, and las can refer to both objects and people.

Lo, la would be translated as it when the subject of the sentence is an object. Or him or her if the subject is a person. Ej: ¿ tienes la tarea? Sí, la tengo.= yes, I have it. ¿Conoces a Carlos? Sí, lo conozco. Yes, I know him.

Los and las would be translated as them Ej: ¿Tienes tus libros? Sí, los tengo. Yes I have them. ¿Conoces a Ryan y Luis? Sí, los conozco. Yes, I know them. * Remember they agree in number and gender.*

DOP: Me, Te, Nos The pronouns me, te, nos, and refer only to people. Here are all the direct object pronouns:

DOP: Me, Te, Nos Singularme teyou (inf.) lohim, it you (f.) laher, it you (f.) Plural nosus losthem, you all lasthem, you all

DOP: Me, Te, Nos Remember that in Spanish the subject and the verb ending tell who does the action and the direct object pronoun indicates who receives the action. ¿Me ayudas, por favor? Can you help me please?

DOP: Me, Te, Nos Direct object pronouns usually come right before the conjugated verb. When an infinitive follows a conjugated verb, the direct object pronoun can be placed before the first verb or attached to the infinitive.

DOP: Me, Te, Nos ¡No te entiendo! (Before the conjugated verb.) Quieren llevarnos al centro. (Attached to the infinitive.)

A practicar! Julio: Marcos, habla mas despacio no ____ entiendo. Marcos: ¿ Por qué dices que no ____ entiendes? Julio: ¿ Por qué no fuiste a la biblioteca ayer? Monica y yo ____ esperamos por una hora!

Actividad # 12 Ramon: ¿ por qué no tomaste el bus a la escuela? ___ esperamos en la esquina por 10 minutos. Manolo: Lo siento, mi padre no ___ despertó. Ramón : ¿ Y como llegaste a la escuela? ¿Tu hermana____ llevó? Manolo: Sí, ella ____ llevó.

DOP: Me, Te, Nos Remember that in Spanish the subject and the verb ending tell who does the action and the direct object pronoun indicates who receives the action. ¿Me ayudas, por favor? Can you help me please?

CLUE! Summary! Conclusion! To use the direct Object correctly DO NOT LOOK AT THE END OF THE VERB, because the end of the verb tells you who WHO DOES THE ACTION. And what we want to know is who RECEIVES the action. (is it me, you or us?) me, te, or nos?

Commands Mandatos To form a command from a regular verb conjugate the verb en él, ella, ud. form. ej>: Caminar____camina Hablar___habla Escribir___escribe comer----come
