There is no word for “it” in Spanish as a subject. If you want to use an object or a place as the subject, use the él, ella, Ud. form of the verb when conjugating. Ejemplos… La clase lee el libro. (The class reads the book.) El banco llama a los clientes. (The bank calls the customers.)
