SER = to be You use the verb SER to describe. The verb changes forms depending on who or what you are describing – this happens in English too! Yo soy alto. = I am tall. Mi mamá es bonita. = My mom is pretty. Mis padres son simpáticos. = My parents are nice.

Adjetivos/Adjectives – repaso/review Some adjectives end in –o. If you are describing a girl, you change the -o to an -a. If you are describing more than one person (or thing), you add an –s. alto/a/s bajo/a/s simpático/a/s inteligente/s (only changes to plural) Yo soy simpático. = I am nice. Mi mamá es baja. = My mom is short. Mis amigos son inteligentes. = My friends are intelligent.
