Comparaciones Gramática pág. 234 Phrases for making comparisons in Spanish

2 más…que Más…que means more than.
Remember the adjective must agree with the noun! El fútbol americano es más interesante que el fútbol. (Football is more interesting than soccer.) Me gusta el fútbol más que el béisbol. (I like soccer more than baseball.)

3 menos…que Menos…que means less than.
El tenis es menos divertido que el béisbol. (Tennis is less entertaining than baseball.) Me gusta estudiar menos que bailar. (I like to study less than dancing.) agrees

4 Special Exceptions When using numbers the que changes to de.
En menos de cinco minutos… Más de cien personas. The following are irregular comparatives: mayor menor mejor peor older younger better worse

5 tan…como Spanish uses "tan ... como" to indicate that two people or things are equally a certain way. The ellipses (three periods) are replaced by an adjective. The phrase is the equivalent of the English phrase "as ... as.” Diego es tan alto como Pedro. (James is as tall as Peter.) Eres tan inteligente como cualquier hombre. (You are as intelligent as any man.)

6 tanto…como When a noun is used in the comparison, a form of tanto is used and it must agree in number and gender with the noun it refers to. A few examples: Yo tengo tantos libros como Miguel. (I have as many books as Miguel.) Elena tiene tantas blusas como Raquel. (Elena has as many blouses as Rachel.) No tengo tantas preguntas como antes. (I don't have as many questions as before.)

7 tanto como Tanto como can also be used to mean "as much as." Note that this form of tanto is an invariable adverb; it doesn't change form to agree with words around it: Raúl corre tanto como Pedro. (Raul runs as much as Peter.) Yo estudio tanto como tú. (I study as much as you.)
