At the end of this lesson, students should be able to: Identify the utensils used for cooking, serving, and setting the table. Understand and participate in basic conversations about setting the table. Recite a Spanish Nursery Rhyme that teaches items on a table.

Students should be able translate the following vocabulary from English to Spanish: -to set the table -to clear the table -to eat -to drink -to cook Demonstrate your ability to conjugate each of the following verbs in the “yo” form. Pre-Assessment of Today’s Lesson: Look at the table setting. Can you identify any of the utensils? Can you tell what each are used for?

13 Actividad #1 La madre de Javier has asked her hijo to
“poner la mesa.” Since this is the first time Javier is setting the table he is unsure of what items he will need to put out on the mesa. Javier is going to tell you what he will use and why. Determine if his statements are verdad or falso. CHALLENGE YOURSELF… If his statements are false, correct them to make a true statement so that Javier can appropriately “poner la mesa.”

14 Actividad #2 Mario is getting ready for a date with
Elena. He has cooked her a fabulous dinner but has not yet set the table because he is not sure what he needs. Help Mario set the table before his date arrives by answering his questions using your highest level of proficiency. Can you answer using: -vocabulary words? -basic sentences?
