Title/Titulo Creative Header that relates to your problem statement.

Problem Statement/El Problema It is the question that you will investigate. It can be written as follows: Does different color light affect the way plants grow? or Which Cleaner cleans stains the most?

Variables There are three types of variables: Manipulated Variable : what you change on purpose for your experiment. Responding variable : what changes by itself because you changed something in your experiment. Variables Held Constant : everything in your experiment that was kept the same to make it FAIR for each.

Hypothesis/Hipotesis A hypothesis states what you think is going to happen when you investigate a question. It must be an If … then statement. Here is an example: Question: Does different color light affect the way plants grow? A hypothesis states what you think is going to happen when you investigate a question. It must be an If … then statement. Here is an example: Question: Does different color light affect the way plants grow?

Materials/Materiales List all materials used in your experiment. Include what, how much, and what kind of materials are used. Keep in mind that quantities are important. Be sure to only use metric units. List all materials used in your experiment. 8 Procedures/ Procedimientos Your step by step directions are like a recipe. Anyone who reads them will be able to duplicate your experiment and get the same results. 9 Data/Datos Graph and/or Chart that displays results of experiment.

Data/Datos Number of Trial 1Trial 2Trial 3 Average

Results/ Resultados Summarize your data (graphs and charts) in a paragraph form. Write about ALL the results, not just the winner. Interpreta los datos. Escribe sobre todos los resultados. 12 Conclusion/Conclusiones Conclusion : (state whether your hypothesis was correct or incorrect and whether or not you would change your hypothesis. “The data collected did not support the original hypothesis. The plant that was under the RED light did NOT grow taller. My revised hypothesis is that a plant will grow taller under a yellow light.” 13 Application/ Aplicacion The Application explains how the results of your experiment will help people in the real world.

Abstract & Bibliography/ Resumen y Bibliografia The Abstract (summary) is a one page summary of all ten parts of your experiment, including, and starting from the TITLE and ending with the APPLICATION. The bibliography is the format used to reference where you got your background information. List all books, magazines, and websites you used to find your background information.
