2 VERBS Verbs are ACTION WORDS or words like am, is, or are that describe people or things. The infinitive of a verb is the form that has not been conjugated. – English infinitives always start with the word “to.” Conjugation is the process of changing a verb when you use it with a specific subject (or person).

3 The verb “to be” In English, the verb “to be” is the most common verb. In Spanish “ser” means “to be” “Ser” is the infinitive. The conjugated forms of ser are: sois soy eres es somos son yo tú usted él/ella nosotr@s vosotr@s ustedes ellos/ellas
