6
Son las tres… Underline the subject 1 time.
In the examples section: Underline the subject 1 time. Underline the verb 2 times. Circle the direct object.
7
Personal “a” In Spanish, if the Direct Object in a sentence is a person they put an “a” in front of their name. Examples: Yo abrazo (hug) a la niña. Ellos conocen (know) al maestro. Él golpea (hits) a Michael. This doesn’t have a translation into English, it is just something you need to do.
8
What is a pronoun? Replaces a noun.
We already know our subject pronouns… Yo Nosotros Tú Vosotros Él/Ella/Usted Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes
9
What is a direct object pronoun?
Instead of saying the direct object, you replace it with a direct object pronoun (DOP) Examples: I buy the ball. I buy it. They hugged Alicia They hugged her.
10
Los/las (you all formal)
DOP in Spanish Me (me) Nos (us) Te (you s. inf.) Os (y’all) Lo/la (you s. formal) Los/las (you all formal) Lo/la (it/him/her) Los/las (them)
