Comparatives Me gusta el tenis pero me gusta más el fútbol. Te gustan las manzanas? Si, más o menos.

Comparatives We also use más / menos + adjective + que (‘than’) to make comparisons.

Comparatives más / menos + adjective + que Una telenovela es menos realistas que un programa de hechos de la vida real.

Comparatives The adjectives agree with the nouns they refer to.

más / menos + adj. + qué Los plátanos son más sabrosos que las manzanas. Las manzanas son menos sabrosas que los plátanos.

Comparatives The adjectives: – bueno, malo, viejo, and joven have irregular comparative forms. – We do not use más with them.

Palabras especiales bueno, a malo, a viejo, a joven mejor (que) peor (que) mayor (que) menor (que)

Palabras especiales Mejor, peor, mayor, and menor have plural forms ending in -es. However, they don’t have a different feminine form:

Palabras especiales Los plátanos son ( más buenos ) mejores (frutas) que las manzanas. Las manzanas son (más malas) peores (frutas) que los plátanos. Yo soy (más vieja) mayor que mi hermano. Mi hermano es (más joven) menor que yo.

Palabras Especiales Mejor (better) is also the comparative form of bien (well), and peor (worse) also the comparative form of mal (badly).

Palabras Especiales When used in this sense, mejor and peor have only one form.

Palabras Especiales Graciela y Fabián juegan tenis mejor que Susana y Gustavo. Yo hablo español (más bien) mejor que tú. Tú hablas español (más mal) peor que yo.

Palabras Especiales Pequeño when referring to age works like joven and must change to menor. Grande when referring to age works like viejo,-a and must change to mayor.
