Él y yo ___________ (viajar) a Nueva Orleans y __________ (ver) un concierto. También ___________ (conocer) la ciudad y ____________ (explorar) varios museos. Los restaurantes de Nueva Orleans son fantásticos, así que, él y yo ___________ (comer) muchísima comida. ____________ (divertirse) mucho y esperamos volver pronto.

Yo comía frecuentemente paella.

 The imperfect tense is also used to "set the stage" for an event that occurred in the past.  Ex. We were coming home when we saw Juan. Veníamos para casa cuando vimos a Juan.  Actions which are not physical, that is feelings and mental actions, usually use the imperfect tense.  Ex. Juan was feeling sick. Juan estaba enfermo.
