Direct Object Pronouns

 A direct object receives the action of a verb and serves to answer the question What? or Whom? in relation to that verb  Mariano drinks coffee. (direct object noun) What does he drink?  Juanita helped him. (direct object pronoun) Whom did Juanita help?

 A direct object pronoun replaces a direct object noun. Some of the Spanish direct object pronouns should look familiar:  Me me  Te you (tú)  Lo him, it, you (Ud.)  La her, it, you (Ud.)  Nos us  Los them, you (Uds.)  Las them, you (Uds.)

 ¿Me entiendes? Do you understand me?  Sí, te entiendo perfectamente. Yes, I understand you perfectly.  Conoce Ud. al Señor Prevot? Sí, lo conozco.  ¿Dónde compran Uds. las carpetas? Las compramos en la papelería.  Notice that object pronouns immediately precede conjugated verbs.
