Si te pierdes una clase, es tu responsibilidad pedir la tarea de aquella clase. Habrá un sitio en el salón donde puedes recoger las tareas de las clases anteriores, y también entregar tareas completas. All of the usual homework assignments will be for extra credit, however, this will offset the fact that tests and quizzes will be very difficult. If you miss a class, it is your responsibility to ask for the homework from that class. There will be a spot in the room where you can pick up homework from previous classes, and also turn in completed assignments. La mayoría de tu nota se base en tu participación en la clase. Los puntos de participación se añaden a Home Access dos veces al cuarto. The majority of your grade is based on your class participation. You will receive 5 points each day if you speak in Spanish and answer questions. You will receive more points for going above and beyond as well as for completing assignments. You will lose points if you speak in English. Participation points will be added to Home Access twice a quarter.

A Letter to Parents and Guardians Dear parents and guardians, ¡Bienvenidos! Welcome back for another year at the Delmar Middle School! I am excited to work with your son or daughter in Spanish class this school year. Middle school is a very exciting and important time— students are beginning to figure out who they are and in which direction they want to take their educational careers. It is a time of exploration and self-discovery. Learning a foreign language is a wonderful way for students to explore the world, and is a skill that can be used in whatever line of work your student chooses. This Spanish course provides an engaging curriculum for students, both cognitively and linguistically. The course will be taught almost exclusively in Spanish, and students are encouraged to speak only Spanish while in class. I highly recommend that students spend time studying and practicing outside out class, and if students want to come to me for extra help I am available every Thursday until 4:00 or by appointment.
