“Acabar + de + infinitive” Used to express that something just happened. Present tense of “acabar” + de + infinitive

Ejemplos Yo acabo de comprar unos zapatos. –I just bought some shoes. Nosotros acabamos de ganar el partido. –We just won the game. Ella acaba de estudiar. –She just studied.

“Venir” To say you are “coming from somewhere” or “coming to a place.” Present tense of “venir” + “a” + place = to come to a place. Present tense of “venir” + “de” + place = to come from somewhere. Remember we may need “a + el = al” or “de + el = del” here.

Ejemplos Roberto y su familia vienen a Puerto Rico. –Roberto and his family are coming to Puerto Rico. Yo vengo del supermercado. –I am coming from the supermarket.

“Gustar” + infinitive You have learned “me gusta, te gusta, and le gusta” for expressing likes and dislikes. We can use someone’s name or a pronoun in the sentence as well. Remember “gusta” will NEVER change!
