2 WE USE THE VERB GUSTAR TO DESCRIBE WHAT WE LIKE AND DON’T LIKE. ¿Qué te gusta? Me gusta la pizza. ¿Te gustan las frutas? No, no me gustan las frutas.

3 UNLIKE SER, GUSTAR ONLY USES 2 FORMS The two forms of GUSTAR we use: gusta and gustan. We determine what form of GUSTAR to use based on what is being liked or disliked. GUSTA: singular nouns/verbs GUSTAN: plural nouns

4 GUSTAR IN CONTEXT Me gusta la pizza. ¿Te gustan las verduras? A Luisa le gustan los carros. Nos gusta el béisbol. A Juan y Julieta no les gustan las películas de terror.

5 FORMING A SENTENCE When saying what you like or dislike, there are three very important parts that need to be included… 1.Pronoun 2.Form of GUSTAR 3.The thing being liked.

6 SPECIAL PRONOUNS Below is a list of all 10 subject pronouns in Spanish, together let’s fill in the pronouns we will use with GUSTAR… Yo Tú Él Ella Usted Nosotros(as) Vosotros(as) Ellos Ellas Ustedes

7 LE AND LES Because “le” can stand for he, she, it, or usted; and “les” can stand for they or ustedes, we have to add “A + name(s)” to our sentences. Ejemplo: ¿A quién le gusta la pizza? A Paco le gusta la pizza Ejemplo ¿A quiénes les gusta la pizza? A Tom y Mari les gusta la pizza.
