More Negative Constructions When the answer to a question is negative, two negative words are required. ¿Habla Ud. francés? Do you speak French? No, no hablo francés. No, I don’t speak French. ¿Siempre estudias? Do you always study? No, nunca estudio. No, I never study. ¿Está Gerardo en la clase? Is Gerardo in class? No, él no está en la clase. No, he’s not in class.

Negative Constructions Here are some affirmative and negative words that you already know. Remember they are ANTONYMS.

Negative Constructions Algún and ningún are always written with an accent and are used before a masculine singular noun

¿Algún estudiante tiene la tarea? No, ningún estudiante tiene la tarea.

Negative Constructions Negative words may come before or after the verb. But if they come after, we must use no before the verb.
