According to Manual de la Nueva Gramática de la Lengua Española (2010) determines that the order of the adjective is free but ut can be located after or before of the subject without a variation of meaning: niña alegre o alegre niña. Nevertheless, in some cases the orderof the adjective gives other sense, for example : triste mujer (sin categoría, insignificante) mujer triste (melancólica) viejo amigo (antiguo, de hace muchos años) amigo viejo (que tiene muchos años), etc. In this circunstances is better to colocate the adjective bearing in mind what we want to express.
