Indirect object pronouns
Parts of the sentence The subject does the action. The verb is the action. The direct object receives the action. The indirect object receives the direct object.
Indirect object pronouns The indirect object answers the question to/for whom/what. The indirect object can be replaced by a pronoun. The pronoun goes before the conjugated verb.
The indirect object pronouns are: me (to/for me) te (to/for you) le (to /for him, her,you) nos (to/for us) les (to /for them, you all)
dar-to give doy das da damos dan
comprar- to buy compro compras compra compramos compran
decir- to say/tell digo dices dice decimos dicen
Mis padres me compran un carro. My parents are buying me a car. Pepe le da un regalo a su novia. Pepe gives his girlfriend a gift.
La profesora nos da mucha tarea. The teacher gives us a lot of homework. Yo te digo la verdad. I’m telling you the truth.
El profesor les da exámenes difíciles a sus estudiantes. The teacher gives his students hard tests. El peluquero le corta el pelo a la señora. The hair dresser cuts the lady’s hair.
