 This verb mean “to have.”  It is an irregular verb ◦ It is two types of irregular verbs you will learn about this semester  Yo-go verbs (because the yo form ends in go)  Stem-changing verbs (because there is a spelling change in the stem of the verb)

 Yo tengo  Tú tienes  Él/ella/Ud. tiene  Nosotros tenemos  Ellos/ellas/Uds. tienen

 Notice the irregularities: ◦ Yo tengo ◦ Tú tienes ◦ Él/ella/Ud. tiene ◦ Nosotros tenemos ◦ Ellos/ellas/Uds. Tienen  What are the changes?  Which form doesn’t change?
