Huevos de hormiga (Ants’ Eggs) Anochetus worker holding a clutch of eggs. They are white. Diacamma worker with a clutch of baton shaped eggs. They are yellow.

Larva Despues the algunas semanas un gusano pequeño y blanco sale del huevo. Este gusano se llama larva. After a few weeks a small, white worm comes out of the egg. This worm is called larva.

Crisálida (Pupa) Las hormigas trabajadoras alimentan la larva. La larva come y crece mucho. Cuando la larva deja de crecer , esta se convierte en una Crisálida. Work ants feed and take care the larva . The larva eats a lot of food and grows. When a larva stops growing, it turns into a pupa and rest.

(Las reynas) Queens Son las hormigas que se alimentaron mas cuando eran larva. Ellas son mas grandes que las hormigas trabajadoras y son las que procrean colonias de asta millones de hormigas en algunas especies. Are the females that were fed more as larvae. They are large that workers and lay all the eggs in the colony-up to millions in some species.

Males Los machos tienen alas, vuelan para aparearce con las reinas, mueren despues. Ellos viven por algunas semanas solamente y nunca ayudan en la colonia. The males have wings and fly to mate the queens. They die after they mate the queen. They live for only a few weeks and never help with the shores of the colony.

(Trabajadoras) Workers Ellas son hembras que tuvieron menos alimentacion cuando eran larva. Ellas no se reproducen, pero hacen otros trabajos como cuidar las colonias, construir los nidos, y acarrear la comida. They are females that were fed less as larvae. They do not reproduce, but perform other jobs, such as taking care the brood, building the nest and gathering food.
