Direct Object Pronouns (Span. 1 Basic Version)

DIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS You use a pronoun when you don’t want to keep repeating the noun. They are used to say: me us you *it/him/her *them

For example: Shut the door. vs. Shut it. I bought shoes. vs. I bought them. *You are replacing the noun with a pronoun to make the sentence shorter and to avoid repetition.

I bought new shoes. I paid $40 for the shoes. The shoes are red and black. I bought the shoes at Foot Locker. I love the shoes! The shoes are so cute! Do you like the shoes?

(Direct Object) Pronouns: Me Nos Te *Lo/La *Los/Las

For masculine singular nouns = “lo” For masculine plural nouns = “los” For feminine singular nouns = “la” For feminine plural nouns = “las”

When speaking in the PRESENT TENSE, Pronouns are placed: BEFORE a conjugated verb, or Added on to the END an infinitive.

Comemos tacos. => Los comemos. Yo abro la puerta. => La abro. Hago la tarea. => La hago. Voy a comprar el sándwich. => Voy a comprarlo. Lo voy a comprar.
