 When we ask the price of something, we use only the form ¿Cuánto? before the following forms of the verb costar (to cost) :  cuesta  cuestan  When asking about the price of a singular noun, we use cuesta.  When asking about the price of a plural noun or more than one noun we, use cuestan.

 ¿Cuánto cuesta la computadora?  How much does the computer cost?  ¿Cuánto cuestan los zapatos?  How much do the shoes cost?  ¿Cuánto cuestan la computadora y el televisor?  How much do the computer and the television set cost?  NOTE: When shopping and asking for the total cost of a purchase of several items, you can use the singular: En total, ¿cuánto cuesta?

 (La computadora) cuesta $____________.  The computer costs $ __________.  It costs $ _______________.  (Las computadoras ) cuestan $ ____________.  The computers cost $ ______________.  They cost $ _________________.  (La computadora y el televisor ) cuestan $______.  The computer and the television cost $________.  They cost $ ______________.

 The word for dollars in Spanish is dólares.  The word for cents in Spanish is centavos.  In Spanish, we connect dollars and cents with the word con (with). However, you will hear the word y (and) used by some Spanish speakers.
