The following is a sample student presentation. The students will be presenting in groups of five and each student will have contributed 3 or 4 slides on their individual topic. So what I have prepared is a group presentation but I have only included one student sample from the group. Normally a complete presentation would have 5 topics on the country assigned. If I were doing this presentation for an actual Spanish class it would all be in Spanish. For the purpose of this class, I have added duplicate slides in English where necessary so that all have access to the content of the presentation. INTRODUCTION

La Quinceañera By Alison Gómez A Quinceañera celebrates a girl’s fifteenth birthday. It is a coming of age celebration and is symbolic of a girl’s passage from childhood to womanhood. Traditionally a mass is held where the quinceañera (the birthday girl is also referred to as the quinceañera) dedicates her life to Christ. Padrinos play an important role in the ceremony. They are as important as the parents of the girl. Religious gifts from the padrinos are often blessed by the priest during the ceremony and presented to the Quinceañera. Later in the day a reception is held to celebrate the mass and the birthday. The Quinceañera is escorted by a chambelan and her damas. The Quinceañera will dance with the court and will dance a traditional waltz with her Father and her chambelan de honor. The reception usually includes food, cake and dancing.
