1 Subject Pronouns The subject of a sentence tells who is doing the action. You often use people’s names as the subject. Gregorio escucha musica. -- Greg listens to music. You also use subject pronouns (I, you, he, she, it, we, you all, they) to tell who is doing the action. Subject pronouns replace people’s names.

2 Underline the noun/pronoun in each sentence.
1. Mario likes school. 2. I walk to the store. 3. Shawn and I are best friends. 4. The students are very hardworking. 5. You read a lot for Spanish class.

3 Here are the subject pronouns:
Yo- I Nosotros- We Nosotras- We (girls only) Tú- You (informal) Vosotros- You all Vosotras- You all (*Spain only) Usted (Ud.)- You(formal) Él- He Ella- She Ustedes (Uds.)- You all Ellos- They Ellas- They (girls only)

4 When you combine subject pronouns and names:
Alejandro y yo = nosotros Carlos y ellas = ellos Pepe y tú = Ustedes (Uds.) Lola y Marta = ellas
