When I was a little girl, I used to always walk to school. 2. Actions that are not specific in time, have no beginning or end time. b) Almorzábamos juntos todos los días. We would have lunch together every day.

2. The imperfect is used for actions that "set the stage" for another action. a)Ayer mientras mi madre me hablaba, mi padre llegó. Yesterday while my mother was talking to me, my father arrived. b) Yo leía cuando entró mi papá. I was reading when my papa entered. (note that "entered" is preterite)

3. The imperfect is used for telling time and stating one's age. a)Eran las siete de la noche, cuando me quedé dormida. It was seven o'clock at night when I fell asleep. b) La niña tenía cinco años cuando pasó el accidente. The little girl was five years old when the accident happened.
