What is the Imperfect Subjunctive? The Imperfect Subjunctive refers to events or ideas that did not, cannot and will not happen.

Imperfect Subjunctive There is only one past tense in the subjunctive, the imperfect subjunctive. Form the root by removing the -ron from the third-person plural of the preterit, then add endings.

Verb endings: ra ras ra ramos rais ron There is only one set of endings in the imperfect subjunctive regardless of whether the ending is –AR, -ER or -IR. The nosotros form has an accent on the vowel right before the "r" in "-ramos."
