Lesson 9 Usage

Hay and No Hay Hay means there is or there are. Hay 9 jugadores en un equipo de béisbol. There are 9 players on a baseball team. Sólo hay un hombre en mi clase. There is only one man in my class. No hay means there is not or there are not. No hay pingüinos en México. There are no penguins in Mexico.

Pocos (few) and muchos (many) are opposites, as are más (more) and menos (less). Hay pocas pandas en América. Hay muchas ratas en América. Hay más ratas que pandas en América. Hay menos pandas que ratas en América. Demasiados means too many. Tucker ha comido demasiadas donas. Tucker has eaten too many doughnuts.
