Comparisons of Equality 1. Adjectives- tan + adjective + como = as + adjective + as Ex. : Juan es tan alto como Héctor. Juan is as tall as Héctor. Ana es tan atlética como Víctor. Ana is as athletic as Victor. 2. Nouns- tanto(s) + noun + como = as much/many + noun + as Ex.: Adela tiene tanto dinero como tú. Adela has as much money as you. Luis tiene tantos amigos como su hermano. Luis has as many friends as his brother.

3. Verbs tanto como = as much as Ex.: Roberto estudia tanto como Lili. Roberto studies as much as Lili does. Beto y Raúl comen tanto como Nacho. Beto and Raúl eat as much as Nacho does. In any of the equal comparisons, the subject pronouns (yo, tú, él, ella, usted, nosotros, ustedes, ellos, ellas) will be used after “como” to complete the comparison. Ex: Renita estudia tanto como nosotros. Isabel tiene tantos zapatos como ella. Rico es tan perezoso como yo.
