2 Comparatives of Nouns - inequality
To make a comparison or differentiation between two nouns, use más / menos + noun + que. Hoy hay menos gente que ayer en el teatro.

3 Comparatives of Nouns - Equality
To make a comparison between two similar nouns, use: tanto(a) + noun + como. To make a comparison between two subjects using a verb, use verb + tanto Since tanto is an adjective, it should agree with the noun in both gender (masculine or feminine) and number (singular or plural). Hoy hay tanto público como ayer en el teatro. Hoy hay tantas personas como ayer en el teatro. Juan corre tanto como Pedro.

Este plato es tan delicioso como aquél. This dish is as delicious as that one (is). Ustedes probaron tantos platos como ellos. You tried as many dishes as they did.

5 Comparisons of equality
The following constructions are used to make comparisons of equality. tan adjective como adverb tanto/a singular noun, *verb como tantos/tantas plural noun * Only uses masculine singular form: tanto

6 Superlative sentences
The superlative is used to say something is the “most” or the “least.” To express the superlative comparison use: el/la/los/las + noun + más/menos + adjective. El concierto más emocionante fue el de ayer. Para mí, la obra menos divertida es “Cats.”

7 Superlative sentences
When mejor and peor are used as superlatives, the following construction is used: el/la/los/las + mejor(es)/peor(es) + noun Pienso que Julianne Hough es la mejor bailarina. ¡Ustedes son los peores cantantes!

8 Superlative sentences
The preposition de is used after the adjective when the superlative comparison occurs within a group or category. El concierto de ayer fue el más emocionante de todos.
