Tú Commands 24 de febrero

Commands • Commands are when you tell someone to do something • We will focus on “tú” because it’s most practical • To make an affirmative tú command, you use the third person (él, ella, usted) singular form of the verb. ▫Ex: Hablar --> Habla ▫Ex: Comer --> Come

Por ejemplo... “Walk!” → Caminar → ¡Camina! “Eat!” → Comer → ¡Come! “Live!”→ Vivir → ¡Vive! *Make sure you include the exclamation points so we know it is a command… and choose the correct endings based on the verb!

Práctica Guiada Translate the following commands…Write out in English & Spanish. Run! Help! Dance! Eat! Cook! Play!

Práctica 1: Un chico perezoso You have been very lazy and never does what you are supposed to do. You need to read what you aren’t doing and change it to a command for you to do it! Ejemplo: Tú nunca limpias el cuarto… → ¡Limpia el cuarto! Tú nunca lavas los platos… Tú nunca quitas la mesa… Tú nunca pasas la aspiradora… Tú nunca barres el piso… Tú nunca estudias para la clase...

Práctica 2 Below, there are a few notes that your mom wrote in Spanish. You need to correct her grammar because she forgot to put her verbs in the command form! Change the underlined verbs into the command form, and then write out her notes in Spanish & English. 1) Hola, tú necesitas hacer algunos quehaceres hoy. Primero, limpiar tu cuarto. Después, pasar la aspiradora porque el piso está sucio (dirty). Finalmente, barrer el piso en la cocina (kitchen). ¡Gracias! 2) Hola, tú necesitas hacer algunos quehaceres esta tarde (afternoon). Primero, comer tu almuerzo. Cuando terminas, quitar la mesa y lavar tus platos. Finalmente, estudiar para tus clases. ¡Tu educación es importante!
