Los Perfectos (El Presente Perfecto y El Pasado Perfecto)
There are 2 perfect tenses… The present perfect tells what you already have done or someone else already has done (in the past, up until the present moment.) The past perfect tells what you or others had done (in the past, up until another moment in the past.)
Los perfectos The present perfect and past perfect are both compound tenses which consist of a form of haber + the past participle of the verb that you have or had done. Ejemplos: yo he comido = I have eaten ella ha caminado = she has walked To form the past participle of a verb, use the endings: -ar -ado -er & -ir -ido hablar hablado comer comido vivir vivido
The Present Perfect & Past Perfect share the SAME irregulars The Present Perfect & Past Perfect share the SAME irregulars. Here are some common irregular participles… decir: dicho escribir: escrito romper: roto ver: visto hacer: hecho volver: vuelto resolver: resuelto poner: puesto morir: muerto abrir: abierto cubrir: cubierto freir: frito imprimir: impreso For example… You have written the essay. = Tú has escrito el ensayo. They have broken the window. = Ellos han roto la ventana. Remember- compound verbs have the same irregularities: devolver: devuelto; componer: compuesto
Irregular participles ending in ído These participles have an accent mark (but not ALL that end in –ido) caer: caído reír: reído creer: creído sonreír: sonreído leer: leído traer: traído oír: oído

To form the present perfect, use the formula: Haber(present tense) + participle (-ado/-ido) he hemos has habéis + ha han -ar -ado -er, -ir -ido Ejemplo: yo/hablar = yo he hablado
