The Conditional The conditional tense is used to talk about something that one would or could do. It is something that happens under certain conditions, hence the name the conditional.

In English we say…. I would run You would run He would run We would run They would run

En Espa ñ ol se dice … To form each verb, we take the infinitive of the verb and simply add the endings to that. The endings are -ía,-ías,-ía,-íamos,-ían So, for the yo form we say correr+ía = correría.

¡Practica! Normally you will see the conditional tense followed by a verb such as estuviera which means If I were… This is a good precedent word because it set the condition for the conditional tense. Ex: Si estuviera en Arizona ahora, no tendría frio.
